With the Increasing trade ties, there is an expanding need for foreign language experts, especially in French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. With globalization of Indian economy, multinational companies are coming to India and more and more Indian companies are going for joint ventures, so we need, translation, interpretation, tourist guides, and fields like advertising, IT, Finance, hotels, Entertainment, Public Relations, Mass Communication, Business Process Outsourcing and Embassies,  knowing different languages will be a plus point.

In order to achieve the strategic goals which the CdA pursues, i.e. :

  1. A better mutual understanding among the people of different countries, cultures and upbringing
  2. A better opportunity to develop one’s own talents and the capacity to apply them in life and
  3. A better preparation to face the challenges of the current and future life and development of the necessary skills to move fast forward in one’s career.

The CdA adopts and applies, as tactical means:

  • a) The teaching of various languages at various levels &
  • b) The presentation of different aspects of various cultures.

Language being the main obstacle (when we lack it) and, at the same time, the main instrument (when we own it) in understanding people of other countries and cultures, the CdA considers language learning to be the best means to reach positive inter-cultural and inter-national relationships.

CdA Global Language Centre has a capacity to accommodate at least 100 learners at a time. As the initial survey has produced huge potential for such language courses, our Centre has decided to expand its infrastructure as soon as possible. Hope, the Centre would be able to produce language experts in the tune of 350 to 400 annually.

The Centre has been able to pull the experts from the authentic sources; competent professionals have been hired, through strict selection process, from various fields.

With the increasing globalization and trade ties, there is an expanding need for foreign language experts especially in French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Danish, Chinese and Japanese.

When an overseas company invests in other country, the investors usually look for local human resources; those having proficiency in foreign languages are on demand.

The Centre expects to spread its wings in other districts next year in Siliguri & Durgapur. Siliguri being the gateway of the entire North-Eastern States, the Centre is determined to lay its foot in that region at the earliest opportunity for the benefit of the massive human resource to make them competent enough to face the emerging challenge as far as learning where foreign language is concerned. Durgapur also makes its way for rapid industrial growth.

In an increasingly globalized world, knowing a foreign language helps you to add that extra line to your resume. It also makes an individual appears to be more accommodative to prospective employers.

CdA Centre will create this bridge to build a vibrant society… for our future generation.

BRIEF about the Founder President

The founder and President of this CdA Global Language Centre is Mrs. Minoti Mukherjee.

She did her formal education at the Benaras Hindu University and Calcutta University, while imbibing from her parents that education of true moral values and good behavior, which later guided her during her whole life.

Married to an Italian architect, she spent 30 years in Europe, serving various organizations there, where she taught English to graduating students in number of cities and volunteered her time with several charitable NGOs.

In 1996, she came back to Kolkata and joined the Office of the Italian Consulate as a secretary, till her recent retirement.

Mrs. Minoti Mukherjee felt on her life the deep impact of both, the Indian and the Western ways of life. She proudly represented her original Indian culture while abroad and, at the  time, learned to appreciate the better side of the Western civilization.

This unique situation developed in her an eager desire to reconcile those cultural differences, by becoming an instrument of exchange and understanding between these two cultures.

Her dreams have now materialized in the form of this Centre of Language and Culture, to which she intends to completely devote the rest of her life.

She has conceived the Centre as the best possible opportunity for learners of all ages and walks of life to come and learn the languages and the cultures of the East and the West, so they can realize that we all belong to the same human family and that our perceived differences are much less important than our essential unity.
